Fallout 76 Port Forwarding Made Easy: Set It Up in A Few Minutes

Fallout 76 is the latest entry into Bethesda Software’s Fallout gaming franchise, released back in 2018. The game follows role-playing and massive multiplayer online elements that make it a fun game to play online and offline. The players find themselves in a highly immersive storyline in an expansive world. Players have the freedom to roam the massive map and craft weapons and other essential items within the game. The multiplayer mode gives players the same setup as World of Warcraft, focusing on loot collection and character development. This makes it even more fun to play with your friends against other groups online. This is where Fallout 76 port forwarding can improve your gaming experience. Read on below to learn how:

Getting Started With Fallout 76 Port Forwarding

Port forwarding creates a direct connection between your gaming console/PC and the other player online. It does this function by informing your router that the incoming gaming traffic is for your gaming console/PC. As you can probably guess, this leads to a faster data connection, better ping times, and, most importantly, a much better gameplay experience.

    Things You’ll Need Beforehand

There are three things you’ll need to know before you can set up Fallout 76 Port Forwarding. These are listed below:

    • Your router’s IP Address (Read the section below to learn how)
    • Your PC/gaming console’s IP Address (Read our detailed PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Port Forwarding guides to learn how)
    • A list of TCP and UDP Ports to forward (Find these listed in the very last section below)

Find Out Your Router’s IP Address

Finding out your router’s IP Address is relatively easy and takes no more than a few minutes. Just follow these few simple steps:

    • Search for Command Prompt from the Windows search bar.
    • In the Command Prompt window, type in “ipconfig/all”.
    • Your router’s IP Address will be listed right next to Default Gateway.

    How To Forward Ports

Fallout 76 port forwarding is easy to set up once you have all the information mentioned above. Follow these steps, and you’ll be done in a jiffy:

    • Open any web browser and log in to your router, which you can access by navigating to the router’s IP address from your address bar
    • Scroll down to your router’s Port Forwarding section.
    • Enter the IP Address of your PC/gaming console as well as the TCP and UDP Ports in the relevant boxes
    • Save the settings and reboot your router for the changes to take effect.

    Ports You’ll Have To Forward

Here’s a list of ports you’ll have to forward:

    PC

    Protocol TCP: 27015-27030,27036-27037

    Protocol UDP: 3000-3010,4380,27000-27031,27036

    Xbox One

    Protocol UDP: 88,500,3000-3010,3074,3544,4500

    PlayStation 4
