    What is Port Forwarding

To put it in simple words, Port Forwarding is a method in which we enable our local network to establish external communications. It essentially allows the creation of freeways for data from sources that are situated outside our network.

Without The Division Port Forwarding for PC or any other device, your system will not be able to receive or send data to the game’s servers. This could hinder your endeavors for establishing a connection to play.

Why do I even need The Division PC Port Forwarding

Port Forwarding is actually pretty significant. It facilitates the establishment of communication channels with external sources. But why? Well, you see your router naturally has a firewall protecting it. This utility tends to block communication requests from devices situated outside the boundaries of your local network. For security reasons of course.

Now what Port Forwarding does is that it provides an all-clear sign for the specified sources. This allows such sources to be granted access to your local network without any connection delays.

What do you need for The Division PC Port Forwarding

Port Forwarding would look intimidating to you if you are new to this lane. Professional gamers have been down this alley numerous times, so they know their way around.

All you need is some basic information about your network’s configurations. Note down the following things to further simplify the process:

    1. Your router’s IP address for logging into the dashboard.
    2. Your system’s IP address to set up Port Forwarding configurations for the device.
    3. The TCP and UDP ports for The Division Port Forwarding for PC or any other device.

6 ways to find your Router’s IP address

Step – 1 Getting your router’s IP address

There are many ways available to locate your router’s IP address. Here is the most commonly used method for doing the same.

    1. Go to the start menu.
    2. Type cmd in the search bar.
    3. Hit Enter.
    4. This will open up the command prompt.
    5. Now type ipconfig in the prompt.
    6. Enter to continue.
    7. Inform about your network’s configuration is now displayed on the screen.
    8. Navigate to the Default Gateway section.
    9. Note down the IP address beside it.

Step – 2 Set up a static IP address

A static IP address is always a better option as compared to a dynamic IP address. Since the dynamic counterpart keeps shifting, it becomes tedious to keep track of. Thus, a static IP makes a much easier solution.

    1. Open up a web browser of your choice.
    2. In the URL bar, put your router’s IP.
    3. Hit enter.
    4. You will be directed to your router’s login page.
    5. Enter the username and password to log in.
    6. On your router’s dashboard, locate the DHCP reservations tab to set a static IP.
    7. In the DHCP reservations tab, enter a static IP address for the device, against the device’s MAC address, in the relevant field.
