The game, Lock on, supports both online as well as offline gaming. However, you will need to open up some ports for Lock on, so that you can enjoy a gaming session that is not targeted by gaming lag or unbearable stuttering. Find out how to port forward Lock on your router.

Here is everything you need for Port Forwarding Lock on

Before we can actually proceed with Lock on Port Forwarding, you will have to make sure you have everything in place for the task:

    • Lock on’s software package (hosted here) should be successfully downloaded and installed on whatever gaming device you possess.
    • The IP address of your router is also required.
    • You will also need the gaming device’s IP addresses.
    • Lastly, you will need the specific TCP and UDP ports for Lock on Port Forwarding (provided later in the guide).

Step-by-step guide for Port Forwarding Lock on

Hopefully, by now you will have gathered all the information required. Here is how the procedure goes for Port Forwarding Lock on:

    1. Open up a web browser.
    2. In the URL bar, enter the router’s IP address.
    3. On the log-in page, type in your user credentials to gain access to your router’s settings.
    4. Now, look for the Port Forwarding section.
    5. Once you locate it, open up the Port Forwarding window.
    6. Enter your gaming device’s IP address in the relevant field.
    7. Type in the TCP and UDP ports that are specific for Port Forwarding Lock on.
    8. Select the Apply button to save changes.
    9. Now all you need to do is restart your router to reflect the changed configurations and you are all done!

TCP and UDP ports needed for Lock on Port Forwarding

If you wish to play Lock on without any of the gaming stutters one experiences while struggling to play an online game, then you will need to forward some ports to allow them through the firewall. Here are the default TCP and UDP ports for Lock on:
Lock on – TCP and UDP ports for PC
    TCP Port – 25565
    UDP Port – 19132

    Get around CGNAT

It is rather difficult to forward ports whenever CGNAT is involved. Don’t know what CGNAT or Carrier-grade Network Address Translation is? Well, it is an effective technique in which the same IP address is assigned to multiple users sharing the same network. It is in fact used by many internet service providers (ISPs).

For you to bypass CGNAT, a  reliable Port Forwarding add-on would be required. Using the Port Forwarding add-on, you can easily open up ports even if you are assigned a publicly shared IP.  Learn how you can manage CGNAT Port Forwarding.

    In Conclusion

With the Port Forwarding add-on, you can easily reap multiple benefits. Here, a few of them are listed for you:

    • Port Forwarding is rather hassle-free to manage.
    • Your download speeds will drastically improve with the add-on.
    • Remote access will also be available with this add-on.
    • A secure and fool-proof mechanism to manage your network security.
    • And of course! You can simply bypass any CGNAT-imposed restrictions regarding Port Forwarding.
