Simplest Way to Port Forwarding an AT&T Router In A Few Minutes
By port forwarding an AT&T router, incoming and outgoing data can be properly routed through the device’s IP address and gateway routes. Port forwarding the AT&T router involves opening a gateway route to your home network for data transmission to and from other devices within your network. This process helps stabilize and speed up your system. By port forwarding with the AT&T router, despite its advantages, you do run the very slight risk of malicious data entering your network. However, the benefits of this process outweigh such risks.
AT&T router port forwarding aids in the following functions:
- Web or game server hosting
- Running streaming media devices
- Remote access to surveillance devices and cameras
- Sharing hard drives in the case of photo hosting

- Select Custom services
- Input the application or device’s name in the Service Name box
- Enter the ports you want to forward on the Global Ports Range. To do this, create separate entries for each port, ensuring that the port numbers remain the same in the Global Port Range boxes.
- Enter the port number in the first Global Port Range Section on the Base Host Port.
- On the Protocol dropdown, select the protocol, whether TCP or UDP, for the added device.
- Click Add and repeat the process depending on the number of devices or applications you are adding.
- Click Return to NAT/Gaming, and your applications will appear on the Applications list.
To open the port, select the IP address or Device name on the Needed by Device dropdown. Click Add, then Save once you see your selections on the Hosted Applications.
